The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council is hosting the Fourth National Scientific and Statistical Committee Workshop to be held at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA on October 4-6, 2011. Topics to be addressed include ecosystem considerations in the fishery management process as well as an examination of how social and economic considerations can be incorporated in both traditional single species and ecosystem based fishery management.
This workshop will offer an excellent opportunity to discuss the various approaches being taken around the United States by the Councils and SSCs in addressing ecosystems based fishery management issues from biological, economic and social perspectives.
