Fishery Management Specialist
Brandon Muffley started at the Council in November 2016 as a Fishery Management Specialist. He is the lead for black sea bass and assists Kiley and Julia on the Summer Flounder, Scup and Black Sea Bass FMP. He also assists with the SSC, EAFM implementation and various state/federal issues. Prior to joining the Council, Brandon served as the Administrator for the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Administration within the Division of Fish and Wildlife where he oversaw New Jersey’s marine, shellfish and science programs including operations, budgets, personnel, regulation development, and fisheries research and management programs . During his 13 years with the Division he also served as the Bureau Chief for the Bureau of Marine Fisheries and started out as a Research Scientist conducting statistical analysis and stock assessments for striped bass, bluefish, menhaden and blue crabs. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Rider University in Marine Science and a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science from the University of Maryland.
