Council and Commission to Establish Recreational Specifications for 2004
Council to Meet in Wilmington, Delaware

November 17, 2003

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass Board (Board) members will convene December 2-4, 2003 at Sheraton Suites, 422 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware to develop and approve recreational management measures for the 2004 summer flounder, scup, and black sea bass fisheries. The Council's Ecosystems Committee will meet on Tuesday to review the Committee's charge followed by the Council's review of New England's Groundfish Amendment 13 and Scallop Amendment 10. The Council will also review the Delaware's Artificial Reef Plan. On Wednesday, the Council will approve Framework 4 to the Squid, Mackerel, Butterfish Fishery Management Plan and then convene with the Commission's Board members to adopt 2004 recreational fishery management measures for summer flounder, scup and black sea bass. The Council will receive a presentation on the Council's Communication Plan on Thursday morning and conduct its regular business activities as scheduled.
