Council to Meet in Wrightsville Beach, NC: 16-18 March 2004

For its first time, the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council will meet in one of the southern-most reaches of its southern-most member state. The Council will meet at the Shell Island Hotel, 2700 North Lumina Avenue, Wrightsville Beach, NC on March 16-18, 2004.
On Tuesday, March 16, the Council will tour a local area Summer Flounder and Black Sea Bass Mariculture Facility. The Research Set-Aside Committee and the Executive Committee will meet during the afternoon of day one following the tour. From 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. there will be a New England Council Scoping Hearing on its Omnibus Essential Fishing Habitat (EFH) Amendment. On Wednesday, March 17, the Fisheries Issues Focus Committee will meet for two hours, and then the Council will meet for the rest of the day which will include a visit to the Wrightsville Beach USCG Station. On Thursday, March 18, the Council will continue to meet from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
