During last month's meeting the Council reviewed the Fishery Management Action Team’s progress and discussed the staff’s approach to Amendment 15’s development. The Council decided not to include area-based management, lower mackerel trip limits, a rebuilding plan, or joint Canadian management as management objectives for the Amendment. However, if information arises during amendment development that suggests these eliminated objectives are important for river herring and shad conservation, they may be added in at a later date.
