At last month's Council meeting the Ecosystems and Ocean Planning Committee reviewed progress to date on Amendment 16 to the Mackerel, Squid, and Butterfish FMP that considers protection for deep sea corals. The Committee provided feedback on the recommendations and preliminary alternatives drafted by the Deep Sea Corals Fishery Management Action Team. Council staff also held a scoping hearing to collect input on Amendment 16.
