NOAA Fisheries Announces Interim Management Measures for Blueline Tilefish in the Greater Atlantic Region

NOAA Fisheries has announced interim management measures for the blueline tilefish fishery in the Greater Atlantic Region. The interim measures, which go into effect on Friday, June 17 for vessels fishing north of the Virginia/North Carolina border, are the same as the previous emergency measures that expired on June 3.

Council Approves Changes to Scup Gear-Restricted Areas

The Council has approved a framework action to modify the boundary of one of the region’s two Scup Gear Restricted Areas (GRAs). The proposed change to the Southern Scup GRA boundary is expected to increase the availability of longfin squid to small-mesh fisheries.

NOAA Fisheries Seeks Comments on Amendment 17 to the Surfclam and Ocean Quahog FMP

NOAA Fisheries has published a notice of availability for Amendment 17 to the Mid-Atlantic Council's Surfclam and Ocean Quahog Fishery Management Plan (FMP).  Comments will be accepted through April 25, 2016.
